A Study of Black and White Women in Pre-Revolutionary New England Colonies.
This paper will discuss the plight of women in the New England colonies and how they lived in the religious ideals that were present in the societal systems of the period. Te books that will be studied in tandem with this study will be: American People: Creating a Nation and a Society by G. Nash an J.R. Jeffrey and the book Good Wives Image and Reality in the Lives of Women in Northern New England 1650 - 1750 by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich. By analyzing these studies, we can understand how many women upheld the norms of Puritanical life in the earl American colonies. 5 pgs. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
