An Analysis of Unethical Reporting on the SARS Case in Taiwan
This paper will examine the role of the Taiwanese Press, and the exaggerated news reporting that occurred around the 2003 SARS outbreak in the country. By understanding the government report surrounding the SARS outbreak, we can see a great deal of misrepresentation of facts by the Taiwan News agency, which distort and sensationalized the disease. By evaluating this press material, we can understand an unethical journalism in their reporting.
