This paper is a book report on the book "Nickel and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich in which the author takes a series of low-paying jobs in different parts of the country to see how people live, how they get jobs, how they find places to live, how the co-workers live, and what she learns from the exercise, including how hard the work is, how limited the worker's choices are, and how many of these works no longer have higher aspirations.
