This is a 10-page administrative (management) studies midterm examination using internal sources. It consists of two parts, each with subparts. Part A is a case study of Metropolitan General Insurance, a troubled Canadian insurance company and consists of: 1.Using six elements of management and Mintzberg's configurations to describe how the companies organizational structure contributes to its problems. 2. Using the six elements of management to recommend solutions to President Larry Gelbart. 3. Giving suggestions as to how Larry Gelbart might implement the Rational Decision Making Model in order to affect the changes suggested above. Part B consists of: 1. Discussing an article entitled, "Welcome to the New Company Town" with an eye toward identifying key management philosophies or concepts presented in the lectures. 2.
