This proposal examines ways in which employers can manage and motive Generation Xers. It first provides background information on Generation Xers by discussing the historical, social, and economic circumstances that shaped their attitudes and behavior. It then examines the aspirations and work ethics of Generation Xers and considers the expectations they may have of their employers, their attitude towards their work and their private lives, and the challenges this generation is placing on today's organizations. Finally, the proposal provides possible solutions for organizations to use to manage and motivate Generation Xers in the workforce.
