The 1900 to 1930 period was one of economic boom in Canada. This was the era of the famous wheat boom, though manufactures throughout most parts of the nation were also booming. The 1900-30 period, therefore, marks the era of modern real estate. This brief paper will look at the development of property and real estate during this 30 year period. In doing so, a very brief historical sketch of urban development will be given, along with the factors that led to extensive urbanization and property development. 5 pgs. 9 f/c. 5b.
