Review of Special Education in Contemporary Society by Richard Gargiulo
In this paper, we will review the text book “Special Education in Contemporary Society” by Richard Gargiulo Book. In our review well analyze the purpose of the book and try and come to understand the author’s point of view, as well as the message he is trying to send. We will also elaborate on three topics that are presented in the book. As a way to focus the paper, and to achieve a level of detail that is useful, we will choose three topics which all deal with Mental Retardation. The main chapter in the text which corresponds with this topic is chapter 5 titled “Persons with Mental Retardation”. We will also sum up what we believe this book contributes to the literature concerning students with disabilities.
