This film discusses the Auteur Theory and Hitchcock. The Auteur Theory states that the best films carry the imprints of their auteur (authors) on them (Lavery, p.10). The merits of this theory has been a subject of much cinematic debate over the years, as it gives most of the credit to the director of the film with little regard for the team of people around him/her. However, making a good case for the theory stand the films of Alfred Hitchcock, each bearing the indelible thumbprint of its creator.
