Character Ambiguity, Socio-Psychological Dilemmas, A Good Man Is Hard To Find, And Cathedral
This essay examines some of the social and psychological dilemmas that are implied by ambiguities in individual characters in "A Good Man Is Hard To Find" by Flannery O'Connor and "Cathedral" by Raymond Carver. The Misfit is used from the former story and the husband from the latter. After an analysis of each, the characters are compared and contrasted with each other to further illustrate the implications of their own ambiguities.
