The Role of the Principle of Fire in Heraclitus' Theory of the Soul.
This paper discusses Heraclitus' views that the soul was perceived as being fire by Heraclitus. As well, there was the idea that just as fire was extinguished when it became water, so life ended when the soul became wet. Conflict had to exist for us to perceive the notion of good, and therefore to understand the concept of God. In this way, we could perhaps clean our soul in order to achieve the afterlife. 5 pgs. 0 f/c. 0b.
