No one person can argue that the health care delivery systems have not changed dramatically over the past century. The transformation of the health care system offers both remarkable opportunities and redoubtable risks. What once was a localized system of health care provided by company (on-the-job) physicians, has become a national industry of health-care providers linked by insurance agencies and umbrella medical organizations that oversee the totality of medical service provision.
