This paper shall discuss four different, complex issues facing nursing administration. How to encourage teamwork in nursing units, especially two that are experiencing conflict will be explored. Different management theories will also be discussed in a situation where an employee’s insubordination is compounded with nepotism. The topic of hiring the right candidate, and what should be done when your choice does not fall inline with key staff choices will also be investigated. And, lastly, we will discuss the nursing shortage, how it will affect the rural areas, and what one organization is doing to help combat this challenge.
