An Analysis of the Image of Women in The Stranger By Albert Camus
This paper will examine the images of women that Albert Camus places within his novel "The Stranger". By examining Marie, and Meursault's mother, we can realize a brutalized and non-existent image of these women in his life. He cares little for anyone but himself, and makes women submissive to him whenever he gets the chance. By creating the selfish Meursault, we can see how the idea of the "I" so portrayed in the existential philosophy of Camus.
