Platos argument against democracy in Plato's Republic. According to Plato, democracy is the excellence of a society character by virtue of which he or she gives up the desire to satisfy his or her wants in order to bring a general benefit to the society. The theory of democracy presented by Plato was in fact a response to the deteriorating situation prevailing in the Greek society. The concept of questioning meaning of life, the universe and everything has become debauched in modern society.
