There are varying opinions concerning the constitution of England and which moment in time meant the most to its development. There are even different opinions of when constitutionalism actually began in England. Some of the ideas range back as far as the fifth century. However, it's the contention of this essay that the end of the Thirty Years’ War marks the actual beginning of the constitution in England and the reason for it is very clear. Representation of the people, for the people, by the people needed a framework from which to operate.
