The effects and usefullness of Freudean analysis in modern society
Sigmund Freud began his pursuit of the knowledge of the inner mind and the creation of psychoanalysis at the very beginning of the twentieth century. It was his research and writing on the topic of psychology and psychoanalysis which led to the reshaping of how we would view the processes of the mind through to the present day. While there are few traditional Freudian psychologists in practice now, they were once virtually the only popularly supported mental health professionals throughout the western world. Students of Freud, notably Jung and Erickson, would branch off and use Freud’s theories as a spring-board for their own.
