In the gospels, we have a number of pericopes, or readings that are part of Sunday services. One of the best-known is the action of Jesus at the Last Supper, which appears in Matthew, Mark and Luke. While John's gospel does not mention the meal itself, it does give a long discourse on the prayer of Jesus to the Father prior to his being delivered up after the betrayal by Judas. This paper will focus on the pericope of the Last Supper and what commentators say about it. 8 pgs, bibliography lists 9 sources.
