An Analysis of Bartolome De Las Casa and Native Rights in Early Mexico
This paper will seek to analyze the nature of colonization in Chiapas, as it relates to Mexico in the 16th century. The priest Bartolome De Las Casas was instrumental in acheiving native indian rights for the conquered population. This study wille examine how Las Casas was able to convince the Spanish government for more lenient approaches to dealing Indians and Africans serving their feudal landlords.
