This 4-page undergraduate essay consists of four one-page college application essays. The first essay describes expectations for college academic experience by noting the ways that anticipation creates conflicting feelings of hope and fear. The essay expresses the expectation that classes will be challenging and useful, while the college experience itself will provide a growing experience. The second one-page essay describe the title character from the film Rudy, and suggests the ways in which that character resonates with the author. This essay considers the ways in which Rudy’s hard work and determination are a lesson and inspiration.
